OTHER DETAILS:
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A15474), working under the guidance of clinical supervisor: Linda Harrison, MS, LPCS, CCS, MAC.
I do not provide 24/7 on-call or crisis services. I will do my best to return messages within 24 hours.
I am committed to my ongoing personal and professional development, and so will occasionally take brief periods of time away from sessions to devote to education and self-care - I encourage you to do the same!
SCHEDULING & AVAILABILITY
I offer a free 15 minute consultation to all new and prospective clients. We will discuss your concerns, your goals, and answer any questions you may have.
From there, we can set up a first appointment together.
Therapy sessions are available both in-person in Asheville, NC and online for clients in the state of North Carolina.
SESSION FREQUENCY
For most clients, the consistency and momentum of weekly sessions is helpful in allowing us to best attend to what is bringing you to therapy. Some people find it useful to start with weekly sessions to gain traction, and then move to a bi-monthly plan once they have gained some momentum. Some clients then shift to a monthly plan for maintenance.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Typically, counseling involves at least 8-10 sessions to establish a foundation, gather history, identify goals, and work on a particular issue.
In our first 2-3 sessions we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to get out of the experience. You will get more sense of how I work and have room to ask any further questions. We will discuss your goals and create a plan together.
Subsequent sessions will be dedicated towards implementing and refining your plan. The way we work together will be unique to you and your needs, but will likely include some combination of the following: checking in, mindfulness practices, considering attachment and relationship dynamics, and exploring somatic and emotional regulation skills.
